The Congress-Bundestag vocational exchange program is now accepting application for high school students to study abroad in Germany. Interested students should see Ms. Kayes for more information.

The Society of Women Engineers and Widener University is hosting an Engineering Camp for Girls in grades 9-12 interested in Math or Science. The camp will take place Saturday February 4, 2012 at Widener University. For more information and an application stop in the guidance office.

State Representative Neal Goodman is looking for current student applications for the Legislative Appointment to Valley Forge Military College. Interested students can pick up a brochure and application in the guidance office.


Applications are now open for the Buick Achievers Program. High school seniors who plan to major in engineering, technology, design or business with an interest in the automotive industry can apply online at www.buickachievers.com. Application deadline is February 29, 2012.

Empire Beauty Schools is hosting an Empire Experience Day at the Pottsville location on Wednesday February 29, 2012 from 10am – 2pm. Interested students should stop in the guidance office for registration details and a permission form.

Female senior students who are interested in pursuing a career in Engineering are encouraged to apply for the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship. Stop in the guidance office for an application packet.

Juniors and seniors – SAT and ACT fee waivers are available in the guidance office.  You receive free or reduced lunch to receive one.

Juniors and Seniors – enroll in classes at Bloomsburg University at 75% off regular tuition rates.  See advisors or guidance for more details.

The Successful Student Partnership Program will begin on Tuesday, September 6th and Tutoring will be available for Grades 7 to 12 in any subject area. Monday through Thursday from 3 to 4 pm.  Sign up sheets are in the yellow folder near the devil doings board or Mrs. Hixson in M30.

 




 

Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarship applications for the Snayberger Memorial foundation are now open. Any student who resides in Schuylkill County and has a parent or grandparent who worked for the Walkin Shoe Company is eligible to apply. Applications can be obtained by contacting Ralph Penn at 800-278-5141 or rpenn@mtb.com. Deadline is March 31, 2012.


Senior students who have been accepted to Bloomsburg University and live in the Shenandoah Borough should stop in the guidance office for a nomination form for the Fred G Smith Golden Rule Scholarship. Deadline for submission is March 1, 2012.

Students in grades 9-12 can apply for the Best Buy Scholarship Program. Students need solid grades plus community service or work experience to apply. Apply online at www.bestbuy-communityrealations.com or www.at15.com. Deadline is February 15, 2012.

The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is now accepting submissions from Junior and Senior students for the High School Design Competition. Choose from two different categories to compete for a $15,000 tuition scholarship. For more information visit www.aischolarship.com/pittsburgh or stop in the guidance office.

Seniors
– if you live in Shenandoah Borough and have been accepted to Bloomsburg University please stop in the guidance office for a Fred G Smith Golden Rule Scholarship Application.  Bring your letter of acceptance from Bloomsburg!

First Freedom is hosting its national essay and video contest open to 9-12th grade students. Stop in the guidance office for more information.

The Gates Millennium Scholarship is now accepting applicants for the 2011-2012 year. For instructions to apply visit www.gmsp.org or stop in the guidance office for more information.
