Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership has a new program for Juniors and Seniors. Advanced Leadership Academy is now accepting applications. You do not need to be a former HOBY to attend. Interested students can go to www.hoby.org or see Ms. Kayes for more information.

Seniors can take advantage of Free FAFSA and income tax completion sessions offered throughout the county. Ms. Fritz will be conducting FAFSA completion at SV on Friday Feb 15th and Thursday Feb. 27th. Seniors students will receive flyers during advisory and information will also be posted in the guidance office.

Senior students who have applied or have been accepted to Bloomsburg University and live in the Borough of Shenandoah are eligible to apply for the Fred Smith Golden Rule Scholarship. Students can pick up a nomination form in the guidance office.

PGSS Campaign, Inc., in partnership with the PA Department of Education, is pleased to announce that the prestigious Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences summer program will be held next summer at Carnegie Mellon University from Sunday, June 30, 2013 through Saturday, August 3, 2013! Interested students please see Ms. Kayes for more information. 


Pennsylvania Restaurant Association 2012 Scholarship is now available for students interested in culinary arts, restaurant management or hospitality. Visit

Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week offers a unique experience working with Pennsylvania business representatives for one week in the summer. Students interested in applying for the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week can pick up an application in the guidance office.
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community. The Curvey Scholarships at Villanova University

Schuylkill IU 29 summerschool is now available.  Application is attached.

The Rhoades Foundation Scholarship is now available to all Schuylkill County graduating seniors. All senior students are strongly encouraged to apply for this $2000 scholarship. Applications available in the guidance office.

The Pennsylvania Land Surveyors’ Foundation is now accepting Scholarship Applications for 2012-2013. All interested students can pick up an application in the guidance office.

Point Park University in Pittsburg PA is hosting 3 summer programs for students interested in screenwriting, animation or movie production. Interested students can pick up an application in the guidance office.

Schuylkill County Trout Unlimited Chapter #537 is offering Free Fly Tying Classes at Sweet Arrow Lake Club House. For more information see Miss Kayes in the guidance office.

First Columbia Bank & Trust Co., Trust Department is now accepting applications for the Dora and William Kalnoski Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship awards are for students majoring in art, architecture and related fields. Applications are available in the guidance office.

The Pennsylvania Association of Medical Suppliers will award $1,000 scholarship to a deserving student who has overcome physical challenges with the help of home medical equipment and supplies. Application is available in the guidance office.


Any senior who is majoring in Civil Engineering or Civil and Construction Engineering Technology is eligible to apply for the Robert Donovan memorial Scholarship. Applications can be picked up in the guidance office.


Penn State Schuylkill is hosting its Science Scholars Program this summer. Sophomores or Juniors that are interested in biology, chemistry or engineering and would like to take a summer course for 3 college credits are encouraged to stop in the guidance office for more information about this exciting opportunity.
 
Senior students can now apply for the Imagine America Scholarship Program. Students who are planning to attend a career school can apply online at

Any student grades 7-12 who has completed an outstanding community service project or volunteered on a project to help others are eligible to apply for the Kohl’s Cares Scholarship for awards up to $10,000. Interested students should see Ms. Kayes in the Guidance office to be nominated.
 
The Congress-Bundestag vocational exchange program is now accepting application for high school students to study abroad in Germany. Interested students should see Ms. Kayes for more information.

State Representative Neal Goodman is looking for current student applications for the Legislative Appointment to Valley Forge Military College. Interested students can pick up a brochure and application in the guidance office.

Female senior students who are interested in pursuing a career in Engineering are encouraged to apply for the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship. Stop in the guidance office for an application packet.

The Successful Student Partnership Program will begin on Tuesday, September 6th and Tutoring will be available for Grades 7 to 12 in any subject area. Monday through Thursday from 3 to 4 pm.  Sign up sheets are in the yellow folder near the devil doings board or Mrs. Hixson in M30.
