  There will be a brief meeting for anyone in Grades 8-11 intending to play football this fall Friday 8:10 am in the auditorium

  The last day of SHINE will be on Thursday, May 17th.

  Are you interested in an after school activity for the Fall?  Join the SV Blue Devil Marching Band! There will be a Color Guard   informational meeting for the marching band for parents and students tonight at 6pm in the band room.  All students grade 7-     12 are welcome to attend.

  All girls grades 8th through 11th grade who are interested in playing volleyball for the 2018/2019 school year please meet in   the auditorium at 8:15 am on May 23rd.

  Please note the change of date: The volleyball meeting will be 5/23/18 at 8:15 instead of 5/21.

  Any student grades 8-11 interested in applying for student council should see Mr. Pytko in room C-127 for an application.     Deadline to return application’s is Friday, May 18th.

   There will be make up hours for all seniors Saturday May 19th.  All seniors must attend.   Times are 8:00am until 11:00am.

   Any girl in grades 8-11 who did not play basketball last year and would like to play next season needs to sign up with Mr.   Conroy in room C128.

   Yearbooks can be purchased during lunches in A012 (high school life skills room). Yearbooks for 2018 will be $40
   Students between the ages of 12-15 that are interested in attending The Pennsylvania State Police Camp Cadet can pick up an   application in the guidance office. Applications are due by May 31st.

   Junior girls who are interested in attending the Keystone Girls State, which is a program for high school females to learn about   responsible citizenship. More information and applications are available in the guidance office.

   Seniors students planning to pursue a career in construction can apply for the Scott and Hoffnagle Scholarship. More   information and applications can be found in the guidance office.

  Several students have recently been wearing shirts that are not dress code approved. It’s important to remember that to be in compliance, shirts must be collared long or short sleeve golf/polo shirt, a button down dress shirt, or a turtleneck/mock turtleneck.  Failure to comply with the dress code will result in a detention.

  Attention Students and Staff please be advised that all vehicles must be parked in there designated areas and that your   parking permit must be visible at all times. Thank you

    There is a collection to benefit Schuylkill Women in Crisis.  We will be putting a donation bin in each homeroom and are   asking for gently used clothing for women and children, unused makeup and hair products, unused personal care items   (toothbrushes, feminine products, deodorant, etc.), and unused baby items and toys...for any questions, please see Alexis   Saldukas or Mr. Pytko.

  Juniors and seniors interested in the Air Force can sign up in the guidance office to attend a presentation by the Air Force   recruiter. Time and date to be determined.

   Seniors planning to attend a 2 year technical school can apply for the Horatio Alger Technical Scholarship program. More   information can be found in the guidance office.

   The Schuylkill County Therapeutic Riding Program in Ringtown is looking for volunteers. Students who have experience with horses or who also  enjoy working with children, this would be a great opportunity to earn community service hours. See Mrs. Mikita for more information.

  Seniors whose parent or guardian is a member of Schuylkill County Education Association can apply for the SCEA Scholarship. Applications   available in guidance.

   Senior students planning to major in Art, Architecture or a related field can apply for the Kalnoski Scholarship. Applications are available in the   guidance office.   


   Any senior who is a junior firefighter or who has a parent involved in a fire company in Schuylkill County can apply for the   SCVEA Scholarship. Applications can be found in the guidance office.

   All baby and senior pictures should be handed in by now for the yearbook. There will be a list outside the life skills classroom  of senior names that have already handed in their pictures. Please double check that your name is on the list.

   Seniors planning to pursue a career in education can apply for the Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship. Application instructions can be   found in the guidance office.

   Juniors & Seniors- ACT waivers are back in stock.  Please see Mrs. Chittalia or your English teacher to get one!

    Many new scholarships including the Ryan Stankavage, Pfluger-Przybylik, John Rich Curran, Child Development and the   Rhoades Foundation scholarships are now available in the guidance office. Please read the criteria for each one and only take   copies of scholarships that you are eligible for.

   Any senior whose parent or grandparent worked for the Walkin Shoe Company can apply for the Snayberger Memorial   Scholarship. Stop in guidance for more information.

   The PA CareerLink Schuylkill County is accepting applications for the summer work program.  This program is for youth ages 14   and older and provides the participant with up to 30 hours per week of work, earning $8.00/hr. Student must meet eligibility   guidelines to qualify. Applications can be found in the guidance office.

   Seniors who plan to major in business administration can apply for the PASBO scholarship.  Applications can be found in the   guidance office.

   Any senior who lives in the Shenandoah Borough and has applied to Bloomsburg University can apply for the Golden Rule   Scholarship. Applications can be found in the guidance office.

   Any senior who plans to attend a trade or technical school can apply for the Golden Rule Trade School Scholarship.   Applications can be found in the guidance office.

   Students who have participated in at least two SKIP cleanups can apply for the SKIP Scholarship. Application can be found   online at www.skiplitter.orgrship and also the present and past HOBY winners may apply.
   Eagle Rock Ski Area is looking for Ski and Snowboard Instructors. You must be 16 years old and have your own transportation.   Free training, free skiing, competitive pay and discounts! Apply online at eaglerockresort.com

   Graduating seniors who have a parent that is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers can apply for   the PACB Scholarship. Eligible seniors should see Mrs. Mikita for an application.

   Seniors who have applied to the University of Pittsburgh are strongly encouraged to apply for the Stamps Scholarship. This is a   full tuition scholarship for 4 years. Guidelines for the scholarship can be found in the guidance office.

   Students and parents can enter to win the Discover Scholarship by visiting collegecovered.com.  Students can also use this   website to search over 3 million scholarships and no registration is required. More information is also in guidance.

   Seniors who have demonstrated achievements in their activities at school can apply for the AXA achievement scholarship at   www.scholarsapply.org/axa-achievement or stop in guidance.

   Students in interested in majoring in agriculture can apply for the America’s Famer’s Grow AG Scholarship.  Go to   GrowAgLeaders.com to apply.

   Seniors who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship can apply for the GE-Reagan Foundation scholarship.   Apply online at reaganfoundation.org/scholarships or pick up a flyer in guidance.

   Seniors who have applied to the University of Scranton can apply for the Koons Scholarship. Application guidelines and   deadlines can be found in the guidance office. 

   The Pennsylvania American Legion has 6 different scholarship opportunities available. A list of available scholarships can be   found in the guidance office.

4K and Kindergarten Registrations
    4K and Kindergarten registrations will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018   and Friday, June 15, 2018  between the hours of   9:30 a.m. and     2:30 p.m. by   appointment only. Please call 570-462-2796 to schedule appointment. A   completed packet, 3   proofs of residency, child’s birth   certificate, and child’s   updated immunizations are required for registration.
